An Appalachian Christmas.

It may not be the same in 2020, but it is still Christmastime in the Appalachians. Perhaps this is a good time to remember our rich history. A significant development was the proliferation of the railway system in and around Chattanooga. Christmas trees, rarely present in Appalachia because of their pagan influence, became a common sight.

Other noticeable changes in the way we Appalachians celebrated the holiday came with the many soldiers returning from World Wars I and II as well as from the public school system, which taught a way of standardizing Christmas traditions and paved the way to end older individual family practices.

We will get through 2020 and we will look with optimistic hope to the New Year. Chattanooga and its surrounding area will remain proud and strong. From our family at All Home Plumbing, a proud Chattanooga plumbing company for many years, to you and yours this season…have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
