Grind, Grind, Grind Away…Keep us Safe and Dry.

What is a grinder pump, anyway?  A grinder pump is a pump unit located at a low point in your house or in your yard where the wastewater drains from the house that grinds up the wastewater and then pumps it to the nearest gravity sewer in the public street.

If there is too much flow into your grinder pump you may need to –

1.  Immediately discontinue use of your water.
2.  Turn off any alarm that may have sounded.
3.  Wait at least 15 minutes.
4.  NEVER open the tank cover or electrical box!

A grinder pump going bad is a tricky situation.  It’s one that probably demands the professional help of All Home Plumbing.  They have covered as well as installed new grinder pumps for years in the greater Chattanooga area.  Plumbing problems…especially with sump, sewage, and grinder pumps?  Give All Home Plumbing a call at (423) 598-1466.

Here are some signs –

1.  Is there leaking water?
2.  Are you noticing increasing noises?
3.  Are your old pipes made of lead?
