Grinder Pump.

Does your Chattanooga area basement need a grinder pump? What is it and when is it necessary? A Grinder pump is essential when you have a low-pressure sewer system in your neighborhood. This is especially true when you have to pump water uphill. The sump pump professionals at All Home Plumbing will be able to help you with that.

The wastewater from your Chattanooga home or business (these are things that come from toilets, washing machines, dishwashers, etc.) uses gravity to take it into your septic tank. When that water reaches a certain level, the pump engages and water flows into a “grinding” system eliminating the sludge.

This is just one of the many areas of expertise that your plumber representing All Home Plumbing of Chattanooga has. You know that when you call on All Home Plumbing for emergency or maintenance work, you can do so with peace of mind. Just call this phone number (423) 598-1466. Grind, Grind, Grind Away…Keep us Safe and Dry.

What is a grinder pump, anyway?  A grinder pump is a pump unit located at a low point in your house or in your yard where the wastewater drains from the house that grinds up the wastewater and then pumps it to the nearest gravity sewer in the public street.

If there is too much flow into your grinder pump you may need to –

1.  Immediately discontinue use of your water.
2.  Turn off any alarm that may have sounded.
3.  Wait at least 15 minutes.
4.  NEVER open the tank cover or electrical box!

A grinder pump going bad is a tricky situation.  It’s one that probably demands the professional help of All Home Plumbing.  They have covered as well as installed new grinder pumps for years in the greater Chattanooga area.  Plumbing problems…especially with sump, sewage, and grinder pumps?  Give All Home Plumbing a call at (423) 598-1466.
