My Sump Pump is Freezing.

This time of year in Chattanooga the thermometer dips into the 30’s on a frequent basis.  Cold weather takes a toll on almost everything.  The truth is, basements tend to be colder and less insulated, which could potentially cause your sump pump to freeze.  A frozen sump pump could cause your home lots of damage!

Here are some things you can do to prevent sump pump failure in winter –

1.  Redirect the waterflow to make your sump pump’s work a little easier.
2.  Put heating tape around the intake and discharge line.
3.  Keep your home always above 55 degrees.
4.  Install a battery back-up.

For that final task as well as any maintenance or installation of a new unit please rely on the sump pump experts in the Chattanooga area.  That would be All Home Plumbing.  Sump pumps and their care this time of year is one of their many areas of expertise.  Call All Home Plumbing anytime at (423) 598-1466.
