Cold Weather can be the Bane of Your Plumbing.

If you have lived in the Chattanooga area long enough you know that your home’s water line can leak or break due to frozen water. Below-freezing temperatures cause water to freeze even in mid-flow through your home’s pipes. This can lead to a burst pipe or leaking water line. Also, septic tanks are more likely to burst when the dirt is frozen.

Here are some tips to help you prevent cold-weather plumbing problems –

1.  Turn down the temperature of your hot water heater.

2.  Insulate your pipes.

3.  Drain any swimming pool water (you are already way ahead of us, I hope)

4.  Open up and disconnect the outdoor bibs around your home.

Being a homeowner in the Chattanooga area comes with some responsibilities. As the calendar turns (and thank goodness for that!) there is still plenty of cold weather ahead. You can always count on All Home Plumbing for any freezing or slow-moving pipes in and around your home. Call them at (423) 598-1466 and find them on Google appropriately at
