Sump Pump Failure in Winter.

Sump pumps in the Chattanooga area tend to fail in the spring and summer months when rainfall is at its highest level, but they can sometimes be used year round. The most common issue that our homeowners face is a frozen sump pump hose which is prone to bursting and causing significant water damage.

It is important to take note that sump pumps run occasionally during the winter as melted snow accumulates over the sump pit.  Now, if your sump pump engages for long periods of time, but is not able to remove all of the moisture it can overheat or even burn out.  Suddenly, you have a disaster that you did NOT see coming!

It doesn’t matter; winter, spring, summer, or fall the sump pump repair and replacement experts in Chattanooga are found at All Home Plumbing.  Home owners in our diverse area count on All Home for all of their plumbing needs.  If your sump pump goes “south” this winter just pick up the phone and dial (423) 598-1466.

Finding the Source.

This is not only good advice for epidemiologists and archaeologists, but for those of us who own a home in the Chattanooga area as well.  If you just noticed that your water heater is leaking it is important to find the source of the leak.  If the leak occurs at the bottom of the unit, then the first place to check is the drain valve and pressure relief valve.

All water heaters have a drain located near the bottom of the unit.  A leaking drain valve is identified by moisture either out of the drain opening or from the valve itself.  You can also remove access panels and inspect for moisture around the insulation.  This can get messy and even cause more problems if not done correctly.

To have your water heater checked professionally and be given an honest assessment of repair or replacement options Chattanooga area home owners have counted on All Home Plumbing for years.  Josh and his crew have been known for their expertise in the inspection of water heaters all over our diverse area.  Just give them a call at (423) 598-1466.
