Installing a Water Meter.

You already know that water meters are used by water companies to monitor the water usage at a home or business. Even when a qualified licensed plumber in Chattanooga installs your new water meter, the water company will probably send a representative to ensure that the installation has been done correctly.

Here are some of the steps to take for successful installation –

  1. Contact the water company and follow the instructions.
  2. Find the water supply and the shut-off valve.
  3. Install the water meter on the inlet pipe.
  4. Wrap Teflon tape around the threads on the connection point.
  5. Reopen the valve on the water supply pipe.

Installing a brand new water meter at your home or business in the Chattanooga area is probably NOT a DYI job! It is something that we do all the time. We are Chattanooga’s plumbing company All Home Plumbing. For more than 20 years we have handled plumbing emergencies and routine maintenance and installation in Chattanooga. Call us at (423) 598-1466.

Who Do You Trust?

We doubt that you recall the old television game show hosted by the late great Johnny Carson in the late 1950’s. Check it out sometime on YouTube. It is an American classic! In the plumbing world that question takes on a much more important meaning…especially since 2020 has made some plumbers more desperate.

Here are some things to discover before you hire a plumber in the Chattanooga area –

  1. Ask to see their license, registration, and insurance.
  2. Inquire if they have references.
  3. How many years of experience do they possess?
  4. What are the payment expectations?

You can confidently check all the boxes when you call All Home Plumbing of Chattanooga to come into your home to fix your plumbing on a routine or emergency basis. They were around for a long time before the pandemic and they will be here for many years to come. Call All Home Plumbing in Chattanooga with supreme confidence at (423) 598-1466.

RPZ…It’s as Easy as 1-2-3.

RPZ testing may seem like a real hassle, but it is vitally important to ensure your plumbing system is not susceptible to drawing in contaminated groundwater. RPZ stands for Reduced Pressure Zone. These are valves that are commonly installed in homes and businesses around the Chattanooga area.

Plumbing systems are typically designed to keep water at a specific pressure in order to help it flow normally. If that pressure falls, contaminated groundwater could enter the system, leading to a potentially serious issue known as backflow. As the pressure gets lower, water flows in the wrong direction, or backflows, bringing in water used by appliances and industrial equipment.

All Home Plumbing serves the greater Chattanooga area and features a certified backflow technician with more than two decades of experience in the field. All Home Plumbing will test and ensure that your home or business has a water supply that is safe and smoothly running.  For RPZ testing issues in and around Chattanooga call All Home Plumbing at (423) 598-1466.

Who Do You Trust?

With loving respect to Johnny Carson and his first big break on television with the game show, Who Do You Trust, we ask this question when it comes time to hiring a plumber.  The right plumber for the job is a very important decision.  If you hire one that is just in it for the money you may live with regrets for a very long time!

If an auto mechanic got under the hood of your car and made a problem worse than it was when you drove in for service, you would be livid!  You would probably never go back to that mechanic again at the very least.  When a plumber shows up at YOUR home to fix a problem you want to feel like they are working on a plumbing problem in their OWN home.

That is the mission statement of All Home Plumbing serving the plumbing needs of Hixon and the Chattanooga area.  We believe that we are a plumber you can trust.  We will do the job entrusted to us and troubleshoot any other problems and simply let you know.  We are All Home Plumbing serving the Chattanooga area’s plumbing needs at (423) 598-1466.

Installing a new Tub and/or Shower.

A tub and shower are is easy to maintain…once their built.  If you believe yourself the King or Queen of the Handymen, the materials and tools that you will need for the project are a jigsaw, level, sandpaper, adhesive, caulk, and possibly some other things.  Then the fun begins as the muss and the fuss begins in earnest.

Here are some of the steps –

1.  You must take off the spout, faucet handles, and accessories
2.  Remove the tile and look for the possibility of growing mold
3.  Clean the walls thoroughly and apply primer
4.  Carefully mark all of the holes where the showerhead, handles, and faucet will be
5.  Make sure to evenly apply the adhesive and attach the panels to the wall

Does that sound like a fun way to spend a weekend or longer?  Why not call the professional tub and shower installers at All Home Plumbing?  These are the people to trust for all of your plumbing needs as well as emergencies you may have.  The phone number to call in the Hixon and Chattanooga area is (423) 598-1466.

What is a Backflow Device…and Why do I need it Tested?

If you are a homeowner in the Chattanooga area you should know about the importance of a backflow device.  A backflow device is sometimes known as an RPZ valve.  What does RPZ stand for?  It means Reduced Pressure Zone.  This device is installed onto your plumbing system to protect your drinking water and the city water supply from contaminants.

In our area RPZ valves are required when a house or building is equipped with an irrigation system.  If there is a water leak in the house, house water service break, a break in the city water main, hydrant flushing, or excessive hydrant use due to an area fire, the water pressure in the house or city water mains can drop lower than the water pressure in the systems.

At All Home Plumbing we specialize in backflow testing.  Fortunately for you, we have a master plumber that is a certified backflow technician and has over two decades of experience.  RPZ testing is essential whether it is an emergency or not, it eventually will be!  Call us today at (423) 598-1466.  We specialize in plumbing problems throughout the Chattanooga area.
